The Digital Revolution

I will he promised, passing her at reception. Her exam was the next week. Magda was cute. She wanted another inklish lesson. He’d passed her details to an English teacher,
when she’d asked previous about it. He was away now, the same inklish teacher, and she’d a few tings that needed attention she said. She sounded so cute too, tick in the nicest way, almost cubanesque. He’d promised her that he’d give her a lesson. His hands went slap as he walked up the stairs, in rhythm, hand and feet. He’d made a personal decision at last.
His list was thinning, black lines through most of the channel numbers. Digital should have meant revolution. Media always wins the day, and the media was global. Harry was working at it, getting a grip on the global mania that was digital TV. It was out of control, he’d seen it. Big brother shows about the ordinary doing very little, food shows that preached how to blanch food, keep for a rainy day, star shows for the star in all of us, famous and poor shows, naked shows, shows about shows about how the shows should show more, freedom of the press, freedom for the depressed,  shows, attention keeping, mention the word tension, war shows, not forgetting holiday shops, we all need to partake, in the digital revolution..

Valium Mothers

Valium mothers not so bad after all, rather than screaming and shouting and that wonderful stuff, they sit around all day smiling forever doing the washing up, they do it all for real the worry and the obscene, at the mercy of strange men who had valiums mothers themselves you see, a permanent cancer that goes from strength to strength the only way to kill it is to stop it growing up, like all those things we hold dear the pretend stuff and the rest we all forget, we never expect to be on the end of that when the rocket blows up, like valium mothers we ain’t in it for the thrill, it’s when you get the worn down feeling when you’ve had enough, not the valium that’s here to stay, it’s all the truth that they unwind when they know your down and you’re not strong enough.
Child roars it her’s you begin to relax a little more, you can stay in the present like the world don’t exist, and you don’t have to be A MOTHER, but it seldom explodes that great imagination you call hope, you took your first tab ten years ago, a month you said would be enough, but the danger sought you and piled in your fears too magnified to be forgotten cause you emptied your soul to a whole team of fears and now you can’t get enough,  once you slip into that world of now when all that matters most is the me, you start counting the days till the next prescription says need, cause you can’t survive unless those dreams remain alive and you just can’t afford to give up, for valium mothers once they get a taste of forever are impossible to stall or to beat while in the valium heat,
Men so discerning with their visions of the future and a past that don’t hold up,  if it was based on evidence this life and all that remains we’d  have been doomed soon enough, but it’s the mothers you see and valium they need to quieten things down, that are keeping the dream alive.

Power Of One

The beautiful sky looked back at me
I smiled back and said
What wonders there are for everyone
Who believes in the power of one

It’s a simple story the cloud said
You get pushed and bumped sometimes
I asked was this a question for me
I was simply asking for more sun

It hid awhile behind a cloud
Doubt crept into my mind
Then all at once if popped out
The sun made me smile

I laughed again the joy of light
The mounting struggles and the strife
But I kept to the plan laid for me
I knew it would be all right

Love is not a possession
There is no bank big enough
It’s what we call the living we do
When we do it right

The beautiful sky laughs with me
We talk most days when we can
Get used to being in love with life
Be surprised by the power of one

a comet is coming...

A comet is coming,
there is nothing you can do,
wait and hope when it hits,
because the earth is dying too,

warnings were all ignored,
all  pleas for help political,
no real effort just short term,
stupidity and nothing else,

Hope remains a stranger,
Faithful to what you ask
No one believes in anything anymore,
 clergy stagger like drunks

governments  call for calm,
Americans gamble on the euro
Chinese gamble on everthing else,
on a world that will live forever,

a comet is coming so be careful,
is your conscience clear you wonder,
will you live in torment forever,
landfills full of your rubbish,

cities built on recycled dreams,
comet is coming so be prepared
you might even be delivered
can you ever imagine it or dared

 and you will be delivered.
Tv calls drama much too late,
space is cracking up all over
stars are all over the place,

can it be true they said
they watched it live on Tv,
the ultimate in reality horror shows
the arrival of the first alien refugee.

They had oil she had breasts
the interest was the same,
human nature takes care of the rest,
they wake they leave a mess,

the comet is coming all right
live  on CNN next week.

enlighten me...

Enlighten me and show me the way I’m lost and have no where to go, The evening is getting late the hour is coming worry is my load, My children weep for TV they weep about it night and day,
No truth no justice no surplus to feed the poor vanity is in the lead, I’m running a tough race the stakes grow higher by the hour and day, Enlighten me lord and show me the way before I go astray

They tease me with fear it seems every which way the can,
It’s like being back in those dark times when selfishness was the way, A breast implant or other such rant I’m suddenly bell of the ball, It wont last forever they say before too long they’ll fall,
But they promise me replacements provided it’s insurance I pay,
Enlighten me oh lord and show me the way before I go astray

The hour is past midnight and the trumpet has sounded clear,
The sky grows bright there are shrieks all night and people all over pray, Day light offers no hope the sun refuses to show hearts mingle and say, I wish I’d listened and done the right things when the chance came my way,Too late say the chaste who thump themselves red with exhaustion all day, Not so says the lord whose coming soon never too late to pray,Enlighten me oh lord and show me the way

cause they sold out love...

-->
They traded money hoping it would last,
A colourful wedding everyone gasped
They sold out love to the highest bidder
who needs pictures i need a new liver

Fine wines and expensive meals
Stuff to talk about to friends everafter
Like george best talking shop
It’s a only time before they drop

Love is pleasure but not pleasure itself
A gift from a friend is not a consequence
the way things happen like when u pray
Someday he delivers and you say hey

Hair make up mortgage too
Ring on finger friends on view
Prospects good envy becomes you
God looks on wondering what to do

They took those vows in my name
I look down what a shame
Promises made that will never keep
I spend all my time rounding up sheep

They sold love in all the wrong places
Like perfume on prostituted faces
They sold out love like it was a machine
traded like gold without a sheen

They sold out god for the sake of a few bob
Now they can’t ignore the signs from above
Worried confused all thinking gone weird
What’s going on we’re all blind

sell out love and you’ll have none at all
you sow you reap what’s gone is gone
They sold out love he sent his son along
Hoping to see what was going on

hung from a cross on the outskirts of town
Naked and bleeding they watched him drown
All their faces skewed and entertained
Till a few came along at the end of the day

They sold out love and it wont be long
Cause the day is coming with no warning
when it ends only hearts will remain
they were the ones who listened each day

loves calling and you need to care
don’t pass the champagne over there.
Cause they sold out love…

despite the odds...

this is a poem by a friend of mine, deceased, one of the finest human beings there was, Ann M Dooley, died young, despite the odds...

despite the odds,
i get the jobs
i do the goods
i rock the gods

i make the mark i have to make
i take the "takes" i have to take.
i pull in fast i pull in hard
and try to hold the winning  card

i fall tall
i fall firm
i fall strong
i fall fast

despite the odds

i'll make the mark
i'll make the grade

because after all

this is my life at stake.

despite the odds!

The patience of eternity..

so you thought there was no consequence to the actions you display, those rubbery images of all those young girls in those various states of play, a button for this two cents for that an explosion and your soon over that, honey is the tea ready he asks, while he washes his hands she's now out of sight..
find anything good on the web she enquires her hands busy the oven on fire, she's a sucker for holidays were all into that so he lets on she'll fall for that, sarah come in and sits on his knee, she's only his daughter perhaps about three, give daddy a hug she she clutches his neck hangs on his every word, we're all used to that...
she's getting older but she's still very young, if you give me her attention for an afternoon i'll take her places that will make her swoon, he drops a wad of notes into his sticky hand passes her over to the much older man, no touching he promises as he takes her away he goes back to the bar forgets who he was...
it's over roars the lord they're at it again it used to be the women now the child is their thing, they are on the path to the fire i'll send along don't think i'll forget or forgive what's going on, mercy i'll show to those with mercy in them children mostly few of them men,
heaven is not a hotel you don't book yourself in, you get chance after chance to set the clock again, until the patience of eternity catches up with everyone.almost...well aah

NO WARNING...

ignore the signs in the sky, but people are forever telling a lie, rains ruin too much to bare, the living scars are everywhere..

an occasional voice sounds genuine, like the ever so rare good  bottle of wine, imitation is easy busy people easy to fool, what next asks  the Lord when the angels plead for more..

children are sexual so easy to do, they are condemned to a life of need not one of virtue,
deluded with fear and that celebrity thing,
this can't go on cause the numbers are in..

the souls in the book of the living are free,
their minds at ease from what they will see,
they sound the alarm and send the angels in,
warning the populations and what's facing them...

money quotes are everything nothing else gets in, so many on their knees doing almost nothing, am i all right didn't i give to charity, i sold my new yacht before the bank moved on me..

God shrieks his head at their relentless pursuits, they promised everything during the last crisis, but once they got ahead it was plain sailing again, i've had enough he cries as the earth quakes again..

floods drought famine war collapsing economies and more, like any decent man he gave a fair warning, st. Peter nods as the verdict comes in, if they don't get in right this time there will be no warning.....
